Our Commitment to Your Puppy’s Health

At Georgia Dog Club, we believe bringing home a puppy should be a joyful experience. We stand behind the health of our puppies and are committed to supporting our families long after their puppy goes home.

Every puppy comes with our 12-Year Health Guarantee, providing protection against qualifying serious congenital and hereditary health conditions.

1. Pet Health Insurance Requirement

To qualify for our full 12-Year Health Guarantee, you must:

• Enroll your puppy in qualifying accident-and-illness pet health insurance effective on the day you take your puppy home.
• Maintain continuous insurance coverage for the first six (6) months.
• Provide proof of insurance upon request.

After the first six months, you are not required to continue pet insurance to maintain your 12-Year Health Guarantee. However, continued insurance is strongly recommended to help protect against unexpected veterinary expenses.

If qualifying insurance is not maintained for the required six months, the extended 12-year benefits will no longer apply, subject to applicable law. Any claim arising before a lapse will be evaluated under the terms and legal protections applicable to that claim.

2. Our 12-Year Congenital and Hereditary Health Guarantee

If your dog is diagnosed with a qualifying hereditary life-threatening disease or disability within the first twelve years, Georgia Dog Club will provide a credit toward another puppy according to the following schedule:

Dog’s Age at Diagnosis	Replacement Puppy Credit
Birth through 4 years	100% of original puppy purchase price
4 years through 8 years	50% of original puppy purchase price
8 years through 12 years	25% of original puppy purchase price

Credits are calculated using the original puppy purchase price, excluding taxes, transportation, training, and additional services or products, and are reduced by any previous credits issued under this guarantee.

Approved credits may be applied toward another Georgia Dog Club puppy of your choice, subject to availability.

You are never required to return or surrender your living dog to receive an approved replacement credit.

Credits are not redeemable for cash.

3. Maximum Warranty Benefits

Georgia Dog Club’s total obligation for congenital and hereditary claims will never exceed the original puppy purchase price.

The age-based percentages in Section 2 determine the maximum replacement credit available at the time of a qualifying diagnosis.

Any previous credits issued under this guarantee reduce the amount available for future claims.

4. Your Responsibilities

To maintain your Health Guarantee, you agree to:

1. Have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within ten (10) days of pickup.

2. Maintain qualifying pet health insurance for the first six months.
3. Provide appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations, and preventive treatments.
4. Follow reasonable veterinary recommendations regarding your dog’s health.
5. Keep veterinary records and provide them when submitting a claim.
6. Notify Charlotte Dog Club within 5 days of diagnosis. 

5. What Is Not Covered

Only hereditary life-threatening disease or disability are covered. Below are some examples of what is not covered.

• Accidents, injuries, or poisoning.
• Infectious diseases contracted after the date of sale.
• Allergies.
• Dental or bite issues, including malocclusions.
• Diagnostic testing expenses.
• Claims based on diagnoses or treatment provided by Banfield (PetSmart) or Thrive (Petco) veterinary clinics.
• Veterinary bills or medication reimbursements, as this guarantee provides replacement puppy credits only.
• Routine veterinary care, vaccinations, or preventive treatments.
• Minor cosmetic conditions that do not significantly affect health.
• Behavioral or training issues.
• Normal variations in adult size, weight, coat, or appearance.
• Conditions primarily caused by neglect, trauma, or improper care.
• Veterinary expenses unrelated to a qualifying warranty condition.

Pre-existing conditions disclosed in writing before purchase will be addressed according to the applicable disclosure and purchase terms, subject to applicable law.

6. Filing a Warranty Claim

If your dog develops a condition that may qualify under this guarantee:

1. Obtain appropriate veterinary care.

2. Notify Georgia Dog Club within five (5) days of diagnosis.
3. Submit the veterinary diagnosis, medical records, and supporting test results.
4. Provide proof of insurance coverage for the required first six months.

Georgia Dog Club may request a second veterinary opinion, at our expense, when reasonably necessary to confirm a disputed diagnosis.

We will review your documentation and communicate the available warranty benefits.

Emergency veterinary treatment should never be delayed while waiting for warranty approval.

7. Important Information

Pet health insurance is a separate agreement between you and your insurance company. Georgia Dog Club does not guarantee insurance coverage or claim approval.

This guarantee applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

The guarantee is subject to its stated eligibility requirements and limitations. Nothing in this agreement limits any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.

This warranty applies only to puppies purchased on or after its effective date. Previously issued warranties remain governed by their original terms and applicable law.
